Daniel Ryan Hurley

Daniel Ryan Hurley (67) of Edina, passed away unexpectedly April 19, 2025. Preceded in death by his parents Charles and Patricia, and brothers Pat and Charlie. Survived by his bride of 42+ years Mary, his daughters Shannon (Chad), Kerry (Tim), grandchildren Patrick, Abigail, and Madelyn, siblings Mike, John, Jim, Tom (Therese), Ann, Kathy (Nancy), Bill (Diane), and countless family members and friends.

Dan graduated from Edina West High School in 1976 where he captained the Cougar Men's Varsity Hockey Team. He attended college at UW-River Falls. He grew up spending summers in Nisswa, and while he was a lifelong resident of Edina, the cabin he later built in Nisswa was he and Mary's happy place. "Birch" was also the setting of some of he and his family's greatest memories. Dan started his day before anyone else, and could always be found bright and early holding court, swapping stories, and drinking coffee with friends at Holiday. Dan's personality and humor filled every room he entered, and he could get a laugh or a smile out of anyone. Dan's one true hobby was helping others, and while you rarely had to even ask him for help, the word "no" was not in his vocabulary. The work boots Dan never took off are unfillable, and the people and places who will miss him are innumerable. Dan loved his family deeply, and he lived his life leading by example. First and foremost, through his love of God and his unwavering faith.

Interment to take place following a private service this summer in Nisswa. Memorials preferred to St. Patrick's Church or donor's choice.
