Studied at Hannover Hochschule fuer Musik, 1981-1984
Performed Tony in Staatsoper Hannover production of West Side Story
Hired as Lyric Baritone for Hildesheim Stadttheater performing 36 roles over the years 1984-1990
Married Anna Lavrov, principal ballerina and closet English scholar 1990
Moved back to U.S. attended College Conservatory of Music, Cincinnati and earned a Masters and Doctorate in Voice and Opera Direction.
Performed in the U.S. at Regional Opera Houses highlight roles of Don Giovanni, Papageno, Johnny in Songplay (original Kurt Weill revue by Jonathan Eaton) Cincinnati Playhouse, St. Louis, Indianapolis; and the Ferryman in Curlew River in New York City.
1998 Elianor was born and Dad needed a job.
Hired at Ball State University, Muncie, Indiana as Assistant Professor of Voice and Opera 1998 became Associate Professor head of Voice Area and Opera Director until retired in 2019.
Moved to Australia post Covid with Anna and Elianor and bought a big-ass sailboat: Kinabalu. Enjoy our house in Nowra, Calalla Bay and apartment in Sydney and sail the Tasman with my love, Anna as often as possible.
